So disappointed, filling tasted of nothing but onion and watery, the pastry top was flakey but the sides and bottom were like wet cardboard, we couldn't eat them, will not be buying again.

I really wanted to love this. The packaging is very elegant! But the pie is really bad...it was too watery inside (runny gravy) and it had an alcoholic taste to it. Like the other reviewer, I won’t be eating the second pie.

My kids grew up as vegetarians and we used to eat Linda McCartney pies for Sunday dinner every week. We all liked them, including me as a meat eater, even though I wouldn't say they exactly tasted like meat.
Recently my daughter (now aged 30) happened to be home and I bought some Linda McCartney pies for old times' sake. What a disappointment! The old-style ones were delicious with a rich, dark brown gravy and big chunks, whereas the current version looked anaemic and completely lacked flavour. These pies also seemed a lot smaller than the ones I remember.
It's a shame - I've no idea what the old-style pies were made of, but if LM went back to the old recipe I'd consider buying them again. I'm not likely to buy these newer ones again though.
