An imported jam made for Woolworths. Quite good in flavour but gets very thick soon after opening. Ironically the original Australian-made Woolworths Blackcurrent Jam had the better (more tart, less sweet) taste.

A pretty good substitute for home made jam. Unfortunately and very surprisingly rarely available in Tasmanian stores. I can't understand why. Tasmania was one of the biggest producers of blackcurrents in Australia. The Henry Jones IXL Company was founded in Hobart, blackcurrents were a staple. The flavour of blackcurrent is robust and unique. On toast, with cream on a scone nothing beats it. Flabbergasted! The few bushes in my garden won't go to waste.
